The Lawson Imaging Research Program is a recognized leader in non-invasive biomedical imaging with new developments in hybrid imaging platforms such as PET/MR, PET/CT, and SPECT/CT. We embrace an integrated approach to research that incorporates a wide variety of medical imaging technologies to focus on applications in oncology, cardiology, neurology (including mental health) and metabolic diseases. Our state-of-the-art cyclotron and radiochemistry facilities provide key resources for this research. Also at the forefront of biomedical imaging research are the emerging technologies of near infrared spectroscopy, photoacoustic tomography, and transcranial magnetic stimulation.
We are a world leader in the adoption of cutting edge medical imaging technology to uncover the fundamental mechanisms of human biology and to enhance the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of disease.
Our faculty, staff, and trainees have the expertise and creativity to discover and innovate through basic research, translational research, clinical trials, and commercialization.
