Biography

Dr. Carson is a scientist, inventor, and entrepreneur focused on developing new types of optical imaging technologies for medical use.  He co-developed technology now used in snapshot multispectral cameras for tissue analysis and co-founded Spectral Devices Inc. a leading manufacturer of multispectral camera products.  Dr. Carson co-developed intraoperative photoacoustic tomography, a technology capable of guiding breast cancer surgery and reducing the need for repeat surgeries.  He is now focused on developing a next generation optical mammogram to rapidly screen for breast cancer without the use of x-rays.
